Mairin and Tim

April 7, 2017

One of my favorite venues, Sleepy Hollow Country Club (sleepyhollowgolfclub.com) hosted the exquisite wedding of Mairin and Tim.  Sleepy Hollow Golf Club was built in 1892 as a Vanderbilt mansion and is located in Scarborough-on-Hudson in Briarcliff Manor, Hudson Valley, New York.  The mansion's gold and ivory interior, along with Mairin's love of lace and roses, provided the inspiration behind their wedding cake design.

Mairin fell in love with a lace applique that was used in one of our wedding cakes posted on the Facebook page.  She thought this lace treatment in gold would be the perfect touch to a light ivory based cake, and I happily agreed!  We added sugar roses in shades of light and deep blush to her cake, but used the sugar roses in separators between two of the cake tiers.  A subtle touch of hand piped lace work in gold at the top of each tier completed the look.

Incredibly beautify photography by Jamie Levin Photography (jamielevinephotography.com) shows off the intricacy of their wedding cake.
