The Basics

All sugar flower classes are held in groups of 3 (maximum) forfocused learning.  Classes are 2 days toallow enough time for drying, coloring, wiring, and assembly.  In these classes you will learn:

  • Creation of the centers of each flower
  • How to make gum paste
  • How to achieve realistic petals
  • How to wire and assemble petals
  • How to color sugar flowers
  • How to assemble your finished flowers into a beautiful bouquet on a 2-tier fondant covered Styrofoam “cake.”
  • If time allows, we’ll add some light decoration to your finished cake.

What’s Included:

Beverages, snacks and light lunch both days, gum paste recipe, cutters, tools and supplies for your use (tools to be returned once class is finished or you may purchase them after class), 2-tier fondant covered, Styrofoam “cake,” box to take home and display your beautiful work.

Pricing:  

Each series is $595.  If you return for another series within one year or purchase 2 series together, you can enjoy a 15% discount.

Flower series listed below are designed to include main and secondary flowers with fillers.  

Classic Rose Series – Full roses, hydrangea, buds, mini-calla lilies, sweet peas, and leaves

Vintage Rose Series – David Austin/English-style roses, ranunculus, succulents and eucalyptus

Peony Series – Two different open peony varieties, closed peonies, peony buds and leaves

Orchid Series – Phalaenopsis (moth) orchids, full and half roses, rosettes, and buds

Saturday, December 22nd from 10 a.m. to (approx.) 5 p.m.  and

Sunday, December 23rd from 9:30 a.m. to (approx.) 2 p.m.

Vintage Rose Series:

Friday, December 28th from 10 a.m. to (approx.) 5 p.m. and

Saturday, December 29th from 9:30 a.m. to (approx.) 2 p.m.

Peony Series:

Saturday, January 12, 2019, from 10 a.m. to (approx.) 5 p.m. and

Sunday, January 13th from 12 p.m. to (approx.) 4:30 p.m.

Orchid Series:

Saturday, January 26, 2019, from 10 a.m. to (approx.) 5 p.m. and

Sunday, January 27th from 12 p.m. to (approx.) 4:30 p.m.

All sugar flower classes are held as either private or semi-private groups of no more than 3 people for focused learning.  Classes are 2-3 days to allow enough time for drying, coloring, wiring, and assembly.  In these classes you will learn:

  • How to wire and assemble petals
  • How to color sugar flowers
