Our first June wedding of 2016 belonged to Sarah and Chad. Their gorgeous summer day was made all the more beautiful with a reception at The Ritz-Carlton in Battery Park, New York City. One of my favorite venues, the Battery Park location boasts breathtaking views over the Hudson River, a knowledgeable and delightful staff and exceptional in-house event coordinators. The wedding colors and theme embraced everything classic and sophisticated with hues of ivory, off-white and a small amount of light blush.
Sarah and Chad's wedding cake proves that an almost all-white wedding cake can be extremely elegant and beautiful. A normally understated white exterior was kicked up a notch with a very light gold pearl shimmer. The icing on the cake (sometimes I just can resist) was a plethora of hand made sugar flowers in pale ivory, white and pale blush that were also embellished with a hint of shimmer.
Their wedding cake also served up luscious cake flavors such as Dark Chocolate Cake with Blackberry, Rich Vanilla Cake with Amaretto Custard and Dulce de Leche.
Kudos to Bret Matthews Photography for the most excellent photographs!
